About ORMS
Welcome to Oyster River Middle School!
Our Mission
The Oyster River Middle School (ORMS) mission is to provide a creative and developmentally appropriate learning environment recognizing the educational, social, and emotional needs of every learner. Our goal is that every learner will develop skills needed to become a responsible lifelong learner who is able to serve the school, community, and the world.
A Message from Bill Sullivan
Principal
I am looking forward to being the Principal of Oyster River Middle School for the coming school year. I consider myself fortunate to have worked at ORMS for the past twenty-three years, eleven of them as a 5th grade teacher and eleven as the Assistant Principal.
I am proud to be an Oyster River community member. In fact, I have lived in the district since I graduated from UNH in 1991. My family and I live in Madbury and could not be happier. I am excited about the upcoming school year, working with Mrs. Carter, leading a wonderful staff, and working each day with such excellent students.
We are going to do some great things as a school community this year. Go Bobcats!
A Message from Alida Carter
Assistant Principal
It is with great enthusiasm that I am stepping into my new role as Assistant Principal at the Oyster River Middle School. I am passionate about education and believe that my 23 years of teaching at the middle school level have prepared me well for this role.
I have loved working as a Physical Education teacher at ORMS as well as navigating middle school as a parent of three daughters ages 11, 14, and 16. I understand the challenges and opportunities presented by this unique stage of life, both as a teacher and as a parent.
I look forward to working alongside Mr. Sullivan, our students, staff, parents and guardians to create a thriving educational community!
About the Middle School
Our new middle school opened in February 2022, following a multi-year project focused on four pillars: energy sustainability, academic mission, wellness and safety, and acknowledgement of local, regional, and state history.
The Oyster River Middle School is the first New Hampshire project to achieve Eversource’s Zero-Net Energy/Deep Energy Savings incentive program. The District estimates it will earn almost $300,000 in rebates once verified.
This project is the first in New Hampshire, and the eighth school project in New England, to achieve LEED V4 Gold for Building Design and Construction (LEED BD+C): Schools.
