The week of February 17-21, aptly named “Bobcat Week”, was filled with exciting themes and culminated with numerous engaging activities on the last Friday before February Break.

Every day of the week, Oyster River Middle School (ORMS) students were invited to dress up in a new theme, from wearing a funny mustache, beach attire, fancy clothing, or black and white. On the last day, students and staff participated in Bobcat Community Day.

On Bobcat Community Day, classrooms were filled with fun activities divided into four categories: Creative Zone, Mental Zone, Social Zone, and Sensory Zone.

In the Creative Zone, students engaged in crochet, bracelet making, fidget and flower arranging activities.

In the Mental Zone, students were challenged to solve puzzles, crosswords and sudoku, and to relax by trying mindful coloring and yoga.

The Social Zone invited students to play chess, trivia, Dungeon & Dragons, pickleball, board games, and learn about firefighting from Durham firefighters.

The Sensory Zone offered kinetic sand, aromatherapy, candle-making, slime and games.
