On April 22, 2025, the ORCSD Transportation team and administration celebrated National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day (April 22).
Lunch was served at the Transportation office, and drivers were invited to read the 150 compliments received from students, parents, guardians, staff, and administrators.
Drivers received mugs, various gift cards and raffle items.
Director of Transportation Trisha Daley would like to thank the following community organizations for supporting the celebration:
- Dunkin’ for donating coffee and donuts for the team.
- Hannaford for donating food for the team lunch.
- Durham House of Pizza, JP's Grill, Love Birds Donuts, Ramon’s Food and Coffee Cart, PiNZ Bowl, Pizza Spinners, TOUR Portsmouth, and Two Bees Cafe & Patisserie for donating gift cards.
- In addition to a gift card, TOUR Portsmouth also donated a beautiful picture of Carlton Fisk on the Red Sox (1975).
On April 23, Mast Way School’s nursing team delivered breakfast from The Works.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to send a compliment, showed support, and helped us celebrate the important role our bus drivers play in our school community.
