Unleashing Creativity: Poetry Enrichment at Mast Way School

The 2024-2025 school year will be one of poetry for Mast Way students. The school’s Theme Team has made plans to focus on a poet and a poetry style each month.

Over the following months, students of all grade levels will be exploring rhyming, haiku, cinquain, and other poetry concepts, techniques, and artistic styles.

The Theme Team will support teachers looking for ideas on how to incorporate activities in the classroom, not only in English Language Arts (ELA) classes, but also to integrate writing and ELA into additional curriculum.

October’s theme is “Rhyming Poetry”, and the poet of the month is Robert Frost. Students will explore nursery rhymes and limericks.

Additional information will be shared in Mast Way teachers' classroom newsletters.
