On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Moharimet School hosted its annual Pumpkin Stroll. Students, families, staff and community members were invited to walk the trails of the Sugar Shack to admire all the illuminated jack-o-lanterns carved by each student. The atmosphere was lively and musical, with sing-along entertainment provided by the Pumpkin Stroll Band led by music director Beth Struthers. A full moon added a perfect backdrop to the special evening. The stroll also included a community bonfire, popcorn, cider and an abundant bake sale.
Typically, Moharimet students plant, tend and harvest their own pumpkins for the stroll, but this year the patch didn't grow so well. Students and teachers have shifted their focus to soil analysis and coming up with solutions for next year's growing season. With the help of local farmers, gardeners and Madbury groundskeeper Jim Davis, the pumpkin patch is expected to recover in time for next year's stroll!
Moharimet School would like to thank the many staff and volunteers who helped the stroll come to life. Over 50 parents came in to help students carve pumpkins and the Moharimet PTO did a wonderful job supporting the event and hosting the bake sale.
