PSAT
When is the PSAT exam offered?
The PSAT exam is offered once a year for both juniors and sophomores. Juniors will test in the fall and Sophomores will test in the spring. Students sign up in the Counseling Office, and announcements are made letting students and families know that registration has begun.
I don't know what I want to do after high school. Should I take the PSAT?
Yes! The PSAT exam is a practice round for the SAT exam. Scores are only sent to the high school and student, and colleges do not see your scores. We recommend students take the PSAT at least once prior to taking the SAT exam.
I took the PSAT as a sophomore. Do I really need to take the PSAT again as a junior?
Absolutely! Taking the exam sophomore year is a great way to become acclimated to the test. Only students in their Junior year of high school are eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Competition (NMSQT) based on the PSAT selection index. Additionally, since most students take their first SAT exam in the spring of junior year, it is a great way to prepare for the SAT exam.
I took the PSAT and just received my score report and test booklet. Now what?
The PSAT score report provides a unique access code to My College Quickstart, an online website which provides practice questions as well as a personalized study plan for students to improve their skills based on their PSAT score. When is the SAT exam offered?
The SAT exam is offered 7 times per year. Most students will take their first SAT exam in the spring of Junior year.
How do I register for the SAT exam?
Students must register for the SAT Exam on the College Board website.
ACT
When is the ACT exam offered?
The ACT exam is offered 6 times per year. Most students will take their first ACT exam in the spring of Junior year.
